New city, new rules, new monsters – same fight, to be the king!
There are buildings to stomp, vengeful military units to be destroyed and six brand new monsters! Every roll of the dice might mean that your monster feels the OUCH, as military units open fire. There’s always something happening in the city that never sleeps.
What’s in the box?
- Eight dice
- One game board
- 66 cards
- 46 effect tokens
- Six monster boards
- Six monster cardboard figures and their plastic stands
- 45 building tiles
- Energy cubes
How to play:
On your turn, complete the following actions:
1. Rolling and rerolling the dice
Roll all 6 dice (up to three times).
2. Resolving the dice
The symbols you get at the end of your rolling step are the actions for this turn.
3. Move (generally optional, but sometimes mandatory)
If no one is in Manhattan you must move there. If another monster is anywhere in Manhattan, you have two options: either move to a borough that doesn’t already have two monsters in it (except Manhattan), or you can just stay where you are. If you were already in Manhattan, advance to the 2–4 space in the next zone up in Manhattan.
4. Buying cards (optional)
You can spend your energy points to buy any of the face up cards.
The game is over when a monster reaches 20 Victory Points or is the last one standing. This monster is crowned King of New York!
Bonus!
The monsters from King of New York can be used in King of Tokyo and vice versa, but the power cards are specific to this game.
